What do you get when you put goat milk in the soft serve machine? Kid cups!
The soft-serve ice cream at Victory Garden, made from goat milk, actually tastes a lot like frozen frozen yogurt and has a texture similar to Pinkberry.
At first we were a little bewildered at what all the fuss was about, because it seemed so much like fro-yo with a slight goat-y aftertaste. That was until we tried the Mastic flavor.
Mastic is a plant resin that has refreshing pine-like flavor. It’s popular in Greece, Turkey and parts of the Mideast and north Africa.
The flavor absolutely shines when combined with the goat ice cream. It was big and refreshing and left us drinking the bit of ice cream that had melted in the bottom of our cup on a hot day. Combine it with honey and mastic wafers (pictured right) for a real treat.
The flavors at Victory Garden rotate and change with the season. Others so far have included: Lemon-Poppyseed, Rose Petal, Ethiopian Coffee and Chocolate Victory.
