This is the ultimate ice cream truck for grown-ups. From the pale yellow truck to the sophisticated flavors, Van Leeuwen appeals to the adults, not the toddlers they drag behind. Which is smart, because the grown-ups are paying:)
We first fell in love with the Earl Grey, which is complex in flavor and brings you straight to Tea Time. If only we could read the leaves of this ice cream cone. The blah beige color is a testament to the lack of food coloring.
Looking for less subtlety and more sweetness? Head straight for Palm Sugar, which is crazy good with a delicious burnt sugar (think carmel with an edge) flavor.
Our only complaint, they are *always* out of Currants and Cream, every time we visit. Does this flavor actually exist?
Van Leeuwen now has a whole fleet of trucks that serve coffee and pastries in addition to ice cream. Find locations on Twitter, or head to the storefront in Greenpoint. We hear a location in the East Village is opening soon!
