This restaurant has walk-up windows and a huge area of outdoor seating (re: picnic tables). The pumped-in oldies music could make it seem like the setting for an Archie’s cartoon, but the Italian and American flags lining the top of the building make sure you never forget that you’re in New York City.

The namesake ice cream has layers of chocolate, vanilla and pistachio. The pistachio has a heavy dose of food coloring, but we were pleasantly surprised to find real pistachio nuts buried inside. It’s a little icy, but still the best spumoni we’ve tried.

We were also impressed with the selection of homemade ice creams, which include Nocciola (hazelnut) and Tirimisu. Don’t think Jughead will order those, but we will.
