Piattini - scooponcones.com
Those who think quality gelato can only be found in Manhattan need to take a very, very long ride on the N train. Gelato maestro Gino Cammarata opened an Italian restaurant, Piattini, featuring his noteworthy frozen desserts in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
We really enjoyed the Licorice, which was so deep it reminded us of molasses. The Hazelnut was also nice. Other flavors include Chocolate, Lemon and Pistachio.
And we appreciate that he maintained the $3 price, while so many restaurants charge three times that much for the honor of ordering their gelato.
For those who follow the Brooklyn gelato scene, Cammarata formerly had an ice cream shop in Bensonhurst called Oro Verde Gelati.
