People’s Pops - scooponcones.com
These wacky popsicles have been getting a lot of attention, and it’s easy to see why. Flavors such as Sweet-Cream-Corn & Blackberry and Cantaloupe & Tarragon have set adventurous tongues wagging.
After a year at the Brooklyn Flea on weekends, People’s Pops has opened a storefront in Chelsea Market. The space looks great and we love that more flavors are available: five popsicle flavors and three shaved ice.
The flavors will rotate weekly and you’ll never see the exact same flavor twice: we’re told the frozen chefs never even write down their recipes!
We tried the Cantaloupe & Tarragon, which was surprisingly subtle, and the Watermelon Basil, which had such a strong basil flavor it reminded us of a pizza. Neither was too sweet, which we appreciated.
People’s Pops also has a stand on the Highline this summer! Find it at 16th St.
Warning: Your hands will get incredibly sticky. Bring wet-naps.
Hours: 10 a.m.-8 p.m. daily at Chelsea Market; 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturdays at Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday at Brooklyn Flea at One Hanson Place.
Price: $3.50 popsicle, $2.50 shaved ice
