Momofuku Milk Bar - scooponcones.com
Momofuku Milk Bar has opened a new location in the Chambers hotel in Midtown.
It serves only two soft serve flavors (compared to four in the East Village) but has the most wonderful space to sit and enjoy your ice cream. Seriously, it is one of the best seating areas for ice cream in the City.
On the Mezzanine level, it looks like a lounge-y coffee shop with book shelves and couches -- plus wait service!
This would be a great place to meet with friends and get out of the hustle and bustle of Midtown. It’s well hidden, look for the Ma Peche sign outside.
And of course, there’s the soft serve. Momofuku is known for unusual flavors, such as Stuffing, Red Velvet and Cherry Jubilee. In June, we loved the Blackberry-Kaffir Lime. Kaffir limes are from southeast Asia, they look like warty limes and are very aromatic. That resulted in a soft-serve that has a wonderful perfume like quality.
The Cereal Milk tastes like the bottom of your cornflakes bowl -- which is cool, but better for a sample taste than a whole cup.
