The shakes at Mikey’s Burger in the Lower East Side are the best of both worlds: thick and creamy for the purists, and exotic flavors for the adventurous spirits.

We loved the Avocado (pictured left) and the Sesame (pictured right) which came topped with pistachio and a strange ropey vanilla substance. Whatever it was, it tasted good. The Avocado was slightly sweet and so thick, with little chunks of avocado that slid through the straw. The Sesame was sweeter and had a mild nutty flavor.

The other flavors include: Chocolate, Vanilla, Vietnamese Coffee, Strawberry, Black & White, and Black & White Strawberry.

The burgers were yummy, too, but be forewarned -- a burger with fries and a shake at Mikey’s will leave you stuffed all day long.
