The flagship location of L’arte del Gelato in the West Village may not be much to look at, but it has super yummy gelato. The butterscotch and eggnog flavors are the kinds that totally surprise your whole mouth as they melt on your tongue.

This is where L’arte offers it’s full range of products, including cakes and brioche, which is a scoop of gelato inside a pastry pouf. You can also order party packs from here -- say, the next time you want to treat the office -- that can be delivered.

The stores were started by two Italian diamond cutters who missed the foods from back home, according to their website.

The store itself is too sterile and florescently lit to be very inviting. We prefer their Chelsea Market space for atmosphere. They also have a seasonal cart outside Lincoln Center.
