L’Arte del Gelato - scooponcones.com
We love the Chelsea Market location of L’Arte del Gelato, which opened the summer of 2009. It’s nestled in the corner of the walkway near the 10th Avenue entrance, and takes full advantage of the exposed beam decor of the former Nabisco factory.
But what’s really notable is the gelato, which has the lovely big flavors that totally surprise your whole mouth as they melt on your tongue. We had Chocolate Cayenne Pepper (Ciocco Peperoncino) and Ginger in the spiciest cone we’ve ever enjoyed!
The stores were started by two Italian diamond cutters who missed the foods from back home, according to their website.
Even better, L’Arte del Gelato has a cart on the Highline in the summer! Find it at 16th St.
Not in Chelsea? Their flagship location is in the West Village. They also have a seasonal cart outside Lincoln Center.
