This Japanese dessert bar in Hell’s Kitchen is known for it’s creative use of tofu, but it also serves up a great soft-serve ice cream made from soy milk.

They offer two flavors of soft-serve daily. We recently tried the Miso and Chocolate. The Miso was mild but delightful, a bit salty and a bit earthy. it has a hint of edamame (soybean). It was great combined with the chocolate and matcha motchi topping (green tea gummy rice cakes).

We are super impressed with Kyotofu for making a soy soft-serve that is as rich and satisfying as dairy.

Other flavors include White Sesame, Black Sesame, Kabocha Pumpkin and Chocolate-Black Soybean, according to its website.

You can come into the bakery in front and get a cup to go, or sit down in back for a sundae.

We recommend getting the dessert tasting menu (pictured) to sample the ice cream with the rest of Kyotofu’s goodies.
