Holey Cream - scooponcones.com
Just when you thought ice cream couldn’t get any more indulgent, Holey Cream went and put it inside a donut.
Give us a moment to regain our composure....
Not only do you get to choose the flavor of ice cream, but you also get to choose from an array of gooey icings and fun toppings for the donut.
We tried a donut dipped in carmel and topped with chocolate chips, then filled with Coffee Mud ice cream. The ice cream was delish, but the carmel was hard to eat -- it was hot for the dipping, but then got really hard (and sticky) when it came into contact with the ice cream.
In all, it’s still an incredibly decadent treat, but next time we’ll try an icing instead of caramel.
...and in case that wasn’t enough, Holey Cream has added home-made ice creams to it’s repertoire. We sampled the Guatemalan Truffle (coffee, caramel and chocolate; Red Velvet and S’mores. All were excellent, but the S’mores — with chocolate covered graham bits, marshmallow cream and chocolate sauce swirled in a milk chocolate base — was absolutely ecstasy inducing. We still haven’t gotten over it.
The price is high: $4.95 plus tax for a “small”. But a “small” is huge — bigger than a large at most other establishments. It could easily satisfy two (or more) people.
We are beginning to think of Holey Cream as one of New York’s best ice cream secrets.
