The name of this pizzaria-gelato store just south of Grand Central means “gluttonous” in Italian. And it has a wide selection of gelato flavors available.

The gelato is fine, but the flavor isn’t as bold and the texture is much lighter than we expect from gelato -- almost a bit watery. The mint flavor was a peculiar shade of green that makes us wonder how much food coloring is used.

Neither the Mango-Strawberry nor Peanut Butter were outstanding.

Their website says the gelato is low in fat, but doesn’t post any nutritional info to back it up.

The shop also sells pizza and we wished we had been sampling that instead.

Golosi also has a gelato-only shop near the Empire State Building.
