This dessert shop in in Brooklyn has the most fantastic looking cakes and pastries, it’s hard to focus on the gelato. But they also have a long freezer of homemade gelatos in traditional Italian flavors (and names, requiring non-Italian speakers to ask for translations).

We really liked the apricot (Albiocca) and the eggnog (Zuppa Inglese). The cheesecake was almost flavorless in comparison. Also nice were the vanila cherry chocolate (Spagnola) and chocolate hazelnut (Bacio).

But it will be hard to come back here because of the poor service. We had to ask at least three times to order, and became so frustrated in our failed attempt to pay our bill that we just left money on our table.

Price: $2.50 for one scoop; $4 for two scoops
