Eddie’s Sweet Shop - scooponcones.com
This authentic Queens ice cream parlor first opened in 1909 and has preserved its old-time charm. Grab a seat at the counter and order a sundae with your choice of homemade ice cream flavors and real whipped cream on top.
We’re charmed by the stemmed metal dishes that serve a cup of ice cream, by the 75-year-old cash register that looks like it belongs in a museum but is used to ring up your order; by the former owner who swings by to chat up the customers.
The coffee chip ice cream was delightful with tons of chocolate chips. Eddie’s is a real find, perfect for dates or an afternoon stop with the kids.
Hours: 1 p.m.-11:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday; Noon-11:30 p.m. Saturday-Sunday; closed Monday.
Price: $5.50 single scoop sundae with whipped cream
