Blue Marble - scooponcones.com
We love the ice cream at Blue Marble, made with milk from grass-fed cows in the Hudson Valley.
This flagship location has a great backyard to sit and enjoy your cones. A corner inside is a play area for kids, and a sign advertises a weekly story hour, making this one of the most child-friendly shops we’ve seen.
Unfortunately, when we visited, the store was understaffed, making for a long, long line.
The Sweettart Strawberry was, according to one tester, “like mom used to make.” It has a tart pop whipped into a creamy, delightful ice cream. This may be the best strawberry ice cream in the City.
The Mocha Chip was nice, but the coffee flavor was so mild it got lost in the chocolate.
Blue Marble also sells shakes, sundaes, floats and egg creams.
Not in Boerum Hill? They also have a Prospect Heights location, and stands at the Brooklyn Flea and Governor’s Island.
