Bitter Sweet - scoooncones.com
It’s the Sweet in Bitter Sweet that drew us to this little coffee shop just off of Fort Greene Park. Alongside the coffee bar and shelves of pastries are about eight flavors of homemade ice creams and sorbet.
We loved the Jamaican Grapenut, which has crunchy bits of the cereal in a plain base. Apparently the shop owner first saw this variety in Jamaica, hence the name. It’s the best use of that cereal we’ve ever seen.
But the Malted Milk Ball (with whole malted milk balls inside) was overly sweet, so much that we had a sugar headache as we walked away down the sidewalk. Other interesting flavors include Fort Greene Tea and Blackberry.
