Alphabet Scoops - scooponcones.com
We were drawn to Alphabet Scoops for it’s good cause -- the ice cream shop affiliated with The Father’s Heart Church (next door) hires underprivileged teenagers and gives them mentoring and job skills, and the profits go to several local charities.
But we’ll come back for the ice cream. It’s made fresh daily at the shop, and stands up to any of the artisanal varieties in town. The Snickers ice cream was rich and creamy, loaded with liquid carmel and delicious crunchy nuts. They also have Coco-Pine, a coconut-pineapple creation, and Bubble Gum, a flavor that always makes us smile.
On a recent visit we tried the Ginger ice cream, which was great -- creamy and bright with a tangy ginger finish.
They also offer shakes and sundaes.
It’s good for your taste buds and good for the community!
