Coralie Carlson is the granddaughter of Minnesota dairy farmers and a life-long lover of ice cream. She now lives in Manhattan and has personally tested and reviewed all the ice cream mentioned on this website. Bubble Gum ice cream still makes her smile.
Scooponcones.com is a guide to the great ice cream of New York City. It’s made by ice cream lovers, for ice cream lovers. The goal is to introduce locals and visitors to great ice cream and frozen desserts right around the corner. We focus on local and independent businesses, not the big chains. We are on the hunt for delicious ice cream, fun atmosphere, exciting flavors, and an experience that takes us back to childhood, when we somehow always wound up with chocolate ice cream all over our faces.
All of the reviews are independent, written after at least one in-person visit to the store and a personal taste test. There is no corporate sponsor of scooponcones.com, it is a labor of love by locals who are passionate about ice cream and local businesses.
