One of the new trends in frozen yogurt is the self-serve, pay-by the ounce shop. Among these, 16 Handles in the East Village stands head and shoulders above the competition.
It has 16 flavors of fro-yo, including some sugar free and dairy free, and a myriad of mouth-watering toppings, from Heath Bars to Lychee. We especially like the Peanut Butter and Irish Mint frozen yogurts, and the Captain Crunch cereal and cookie dough toppings.
We think the fro-yo itself tastes better, and they have a wider variety of fresher toppings, than other similar shops.
Also, the store is adorable and bright and the company is involved in the community, from raffles for NYU students to its support of Trees for the Future.
And get a free cup of fro-yo on your birthday with your ID!
We do, however, wish 16 Handles gave samples.
